April 11, 2010Dick Cooper, John Walker & Stuart Attenborrow – 10 days fishing trip, Ramganga River, Northern India.
Another successful trip for 3 anglers on our latest expedition to the upper Ramganga River with 9 fantastic Golden Mahseer catches between the group. Dick Cooper had the biggest fish of the trip with an awesome 44lb catch and another 16lb fish to go with it while Stuart Attenborrow caught 3 stunning fish up to 18lb and John Walker a range of equally stunning fish in the 16 -23lb bracket so a great result there!
There were no extra curricular activities for this group of hard care anglers who spent 10 days in total by the river and I must say we all had a great laugh together during the trip..especially since India Angling’s very own Chris Summers celebrated his 27th birthday by the river with a unique Himalayan party that I don ‘t think can ever be rivaled..thanks to Shiva and Sharma our camp managers and cooks for the amazing cake they baked on the bonfire!!

Dr. Col Roberts (Editor of ‘ Fish Wild’ Magazine) – 7 days fishing and photography trip, Ramganga River, Northern India.
Another fanstastic fishing trip on the river throws up some amazing fish once again for Dr. Col Roberts of Australia based magazine, Fish Wild. Col was busy photographing the fishing for the April 2011 edition of the magazine so India Angling’s Clinton Isacc is seen here with a beautiful 44lb and 46lb Golden Mahseer.

March 12, 2010Mahseer Conservation Group – 10 Day Fishing, Wildlife and Cultural Trip, Northern India
Well another fishing season has started with a catch from Chris Elliott from Cambridgeshire of a magnificent 42lb Golden Mahseer, and a huge and very rare 60lb Goonch Catfish was the prize for Keith Elliott, Editor of Classic Angling Magazine. The group of 4 anglers along with their partners spent 6 days fishing the famous Ramganga River in Northern India and in addition to the big fish we managed to catch around 40 smaller Mahseer in the 1-6lb bracket. Even some of the ladies tried their hand at catching a Mahseer with success on the last day as they landed several small fish which was fantastic and a memory that will stay with them forever…
The group wanted to make the most out of their short trip to India so we were able to offer a 2 day Tiger safari in the Corbett National Park after the fishing and then a day trip to Agra to visit the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort along with a bit of retail therapy for the ladies before flying back to the UK the next morning. The group really enjoyed their Indian experience and hopefully we’ll be seeing them again very soon on the river!

December 30, 2009Kevin and Peter – 7 Day Fishing Trip, Ramganga River, Northern India
Kevin and his good friend Peter had a great trip with us, and they were also lucky enough to land the biggest fish of 2009, a 55lb Golden Mahseer, caught by Peter on his first trip to the Mighty Himalayas.
Kevin too caught some Mahseer but only smaller cousins of the big 55lb beauty caught by Peter, and a lovely 15lb Mulley Catfish. They have both re-booked with us for the 2010 season, but this time they are heading south for the Andaman islands and saltwater fun in the sun, so we will keep you posted on their trip!

July 18, 2009John and Colin had a great first trip with us to the Ramganga River in April – with a low river this year we had mixed results but action was steady. Colin landed his first ever Golden Mahseer of 15lb on a small free-lined Chilwa bait and also caught a rare Mulley catfish of 11lb. The last day for Colin was agony, with only 4 hours fishing left before we packed up to leave he hooked into an unseen monster – we could make out a large black shape twisting and turning in the river but after 5 minutes the hooks pulled and the fish went free.
John had a better trip, being top rod was a treat for him as this was his first trip to India although an experienced angler and traveler, and he really loved the place. John caught Goonch of 22lb on light tackle intended for Mahseer and he then caught a 20lb Mahseer on his Goonch rod. I think the one night of the trip that will stand out from the rest for John is the penultimate night when he caught his 20lb Mahseer and the rod was nearly pulled from his hands about 4 times before the fish actually took – the bites from Mahseer are savage and John got a good feel for it that night!
